How to import classes into your MIS

The process for importing your classes to your MIS depends on which MIS you use (SIMS vs Cloud-based). This guide will cover the process for both.

Please note: before you can transfer enrolled classes to your MIS (Year 12), you must first ensure you have transferred the students' data into your MIS - they have to exist in your MIS first, before their class allocations can then be transferred.

Only students whose status is "enrolled" can have their classes imported into your MIS.

Please ensure prior to importing classes that you have checked your MIS class codes match the class codes you have added in Admissions+ by visiting your Timetables area from the main dashboard. Your timetabler can confirm the class codes from your MIS if you are uncertain whether or not they are correct.

SIMS

Log into SIMS and ensure you have updated the enrolment status of your external applicants to Accepted or Admitted.

Load your Admissions+ SIMS App.

Click the "import classes" icon and then choose the correct application form from the list on the left hand side of your screen.

Select the students you wish to transfer the classes information for and then select the correct academic year.

This will show all available classes in SIMS and you can filter that to show only Year 12 classes.

The SIMS Class Code and class information will show, and you can click "automatically match classes" to match the SIMS classes to the classes created in your Admissions+ system.

Ensure all of the classes are mapped correctly (once you have done this once, the App will remember your settings for next time).

Click "next" and then "import" and the classes will then be imported for the students you have selected.

Please note, this does not add the students to their base bands so this still needs to be done directly in SIMS.

ALL OTHER MIS

Navigate to Data > Export > Start an Export.

Give your export a name and then select your School MIS before clicking "next".

Select "student classes" and then click next to proceed to the mapping step.

Use the "filter by academic level" dropdown to show the correct classes for the year group you are importing the data for.

Map your classes from your MIS to the corresponding classes in Admissions+ by matching the class codes and then check them all to ensure everything is linked correctly.

Click "next" to proceed to the export, and the classes will then be exported to your MIS from Admissions+ for the students you selected.
