How a referee completes a reference request

When you send reference requests, the referee is sent a login to access the references portal. This guide will show you what they will experience.

If you have enabled your reference settings, applicants are asked to provide the contact details of their referee. 

Upon submitting their application form to you, the reference request is then automatically sent to the referee for completion. 

The referee will receive an email like so: 

 

Note: the link is secure and cannot be forwarded. If they are not the appropriate referee, they can "click here to assign this reference request to another person" (as shown above). 

 

They click the link to log in and then verify their email address: 

 

Finally, they receive another email which provides them the link to log into the portal and complete the reference: 

They are then able to complete the reference for any students who have nominated them as their referee:

 

If they have been named as the referee for more than one applicant, the referee can click the "Reference Dashboard" button to access the names of any other applicants assigned to them and complete their references, see the status of them, or select to forward them on to another colleague as required.
