This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting feeder schools (the schools where applicants are currently enrolled) and explains how the system is expected to function.
From your Admissions+ dashboard, navigate to Settings → Form Settings, and then select Feeder Schools.
The Feeder Schools section displays all schools from the DfE.
There are three ways to set your feeder school - manually, through bulk CSV import, or by toggling the 'Is feeder school?' button. Once you have identified your feeder schools, they will appear at the top of the list and will be labelled 'Feeder School'.
Importing Feeder Schools via CSV
From the Feeder Schools section, click the “Import from CSV” button and download the provided sample CSV. Fill out the CSV with the details of your feeder schools, then attach the completed file and click Import.
Manually Adding a Feeder School
From the Feeder Schools section, click the “+ New School” button and complete the following fields:
- Name
- Establishment Number
- Establishment Status
- Local Authority Code
- Local Authority Name
- URN
- Postcode
- Contact Email
Before saving, ensure that the “Feeder School” toggle is turned on, then click the “Create School” button.
Identifying a Feeder School Using the Toggle Button
The “Is feeder school?” toggle will be off by default. Users can easily toggle it on to designate a school as a feeder school. In the Feeder Schools section, simply toggle the button under the ”Is feeder school?” column.
Key Points to Remember
- The default setting for a feeder school is off.
- Feeder schools will appear first in the current school search results.
- Feeder schools cannot be deleted from the list if they have been selected by any applicant.
- If no feeder schools are flagged, the current school field will function as it currently does.
- Feeder school settings are specific to each form; changes made in one form will not affect others.
- Feeder schools added by the user will carry over when cloning forms for the next year.
- Incorrectly formatted CSV files will result in an unsuccessful import. Similarly, duplicate imports will cause the same issue.
