How does student preference ranking work?

This article will explain how the new feature of students ranking the schools/ colleges they apply to works

Students can update their preference ranking through Applicaa One. They can create their Applicaa One account when registering a new application or from their student profile when logged into one of their applications.

If a student has applied to multiple Applicaa schools using the same email address as their Applicaa One account, their applications are automatically associated with their Applicaa One account, allowing them to see and rank them by preference. If they have applied to other Applicaa schools using a different email, they can still link these to their existing account after a verification step that links the two email addresses.

Students can also add to their list, applications they have made to non-Applicaa schools, helping to create a complete picture of their applications.

How Ranking is Submitted:

Ranking is only shared with the schools that astudent has applied to when the student has proactively updated their ranking. This can be done in the following ways:

1. Logging into their Applicaa One account and going to their application area, where they can rank their applications and put them in order of preference.

2. Creating a new application by applying to a school that uses Applicaa. Upon creating their new application and before they log in to complete it, they are prompted to rank their applications.

3. When submitting an application on a school’s Applicaa system, they are also asked to update their school ranking preference.

What Can Schools See?

Schools can see their position in an applicant’s list of applications. They can also see the application status of other applications but not the names of the other schools the applicant has applied to.

The ranking is visible in the following places:

1. An applicant’s profile, just below the application statuses and next to the student name in the header of their profile.

2. The School Preference Ranking column of a list of applicants, such as the list of all registered applicants (students).

Filtering for school ranking:

The school preference submitted by students can also be used on the advanced filter. Simply search for ‘ranking’ or ‘preference’ once you have opened the advanced filter and you can filter using number options.
