SIMS Sync vital checks

This article will cover a few questions that are vital to answer before you attempt testing the SIMS sync.

• Does the school have custom application statuses in SIMS, which the SIMS Sync App doesn’t preload? The SIMS statuses we support are here.

• If the SIMS Sync App is unable to find Intake / Admission groups when syncing a pre-admission student there are some defaults set in the app that will be used by the app to create new Intake / Admissions groups for the student to sync. The school can change the defaults used by the app:
  
  
  
• The SIMS Sync App will suffix the name of a new Admission Group with (A), this can be turned-off in the app is the school doesn’t want the suffix:
  
• If the school is using the Offer Module there are defaults set in the SIMS Sync App for the Bill Payer which can be set as required.
  
• In the SIMS Sync App the school will need to ensure the Data Mappings are set correctly so this should be checked, this is the data that’s synced from A+ to SIMS only (we clone or preload all supported fields from SIMS to A+ which can’t be controlled except for the Student Photo which by default isn’t preloaded). Typically, all mappings should be selected or ticked but the school may wish to not sync specific data.
