How to choose if school names are created in SIMS

This article explains your options regarding school names syncing to SIMS.

To see your current SIMS sync settings, navigate to the Integration area:

Under the MIS Setting section, you can see the option 'Enable saving to MIS School Names typed by applicants'. 

- Enabling this option allows the school names to sync into SIMS.

If you allow school names to sync, this means that any school names manually typed by parents (perhaps incorrectly) will sync, as well as those that come from the DfE list in our dropdown.

- On the other hand, if this option is disabled, what will happen is that the system will then search for the school that was entered by the parent/applicant.

If it matches the school in SIMS that has the exact name and postcode, it will sync into SIMS.

If it does not match any schools that are currently in SIMS, the school entered by the parent will not sync into SIMS.
