How to import applicants' subject choices in bulk from CSV

Sometimes, it may be necessary to import applicants' subject choices from an external file (particularly if you have commenced using your A+ system part-way through a cycle and applications were collated outside of your system)

You can prepare a CSV file containing the applicants' subject choices and import that to your system in order to update the subjects they have applied for as a bulk action. You'll find sample CSV files exist to help you prepare your own file.

Version 1

Version 2

Navigate to Data > Import > Start an Import. Give your import a name, and scroll to select "Student Subject Options"; click "next".

Select "CSV" and then "next", where you will be promoted to upload your file. Select which version you have used, and click "next" to proceed.

The Data Mapping screen will give you the option of whether to overwrite students' existing subject choices or not (if they have no choices already, you can leave this set to "no"). You will see their unique identifier and their courses are going to be mapped automatically to the correct fields within your A+ system. Click "next" to proceed and your import will begin.

You'll see an "Import Finished" notification on completion, and will be able to view the successful updated records - the students' course choices will have been added to their application forms.
